Summer & Academic-Year Programs Abroad
Listing of programs here is provided as a service, as some of these are hard to find on the web or have frequently changing links. It does not constitute an endorsement of any of them specifically, especially the private programs (those not affiliated with a public university), as I do not have personal knowledge of most of them. I attended both the summer and term-time programs run through the UBS and felt that they were well run.

Czech & Slovak Podcasts
- Český rozhlas - podcasts of various member stations.
- Hrej.cz - podcasts about games and gaming.
- ABC of Czech essays and tips on colloquial Czech.
I recently (around January 2010) found a website listing dozens of Czech podcasts, and now cannot find it again. I'd much appreciate if someone could point me to it again so I can list it here. Podcasting has not taken off in CR for some reason, though blogging is growing rapidly. Slovak podcasts seem even fewer in number.
Central European (Accented Latin) Fonts
- Yamada Language Center: Font Archive includes the bitmapped fonts Greg's Czech and Hradcany. Yamada is generally the best source for freeware fonts.
- Central European accessories for Macintosh.
- Czech, Slovak, and Slovene coding for HTML.
Most current computer systems (Mac OS X and Windows 2000 and later) now have incorporated plug-ins for Central European fonts. Check your system software installer packages for instructions. If you are looking for other resources, try the following:
